Tasting Cortenova Pinot Grigio

Name: Cortenova
Variety: Pinot Grigio
Region: Veneto
Country: Italy
Year: 2012
Price: $7.95
The Vintage Cellar Review: Brilliant straw color with emerald reflections.  Fresh and floral bouquet with a hint of pears, apricots and bananas.  Fresh and inviting with bright fruit and an easy drinking style with a pleasing hint of almonds in the aftertaste.  Pairs well with seafood dishes, risottos with scampi, spaghetti with clams, sole in white wine.  Perfect also as an aperitif.
My Review: This wine has a clear light color but there isn’t much of a tint to it, its super light.  It smells of peaches, nectarines, apricots, but mostly like apple juice.  It smells like it should be sweet but the taste is really light and watery like an apple juice that got all the sugar sucked out of it.  It seems to almost have a slight fizz to it.  It is very smooth, and a little tart.  Like a water with flavoring and absolutely no burn.
